on my way to the beach this weekend in martha’s vineyard, i drove by this flower stand and of course i wanted to check it out. as you can see, the stand has buckets of mixed flowers and a box to drop your cash in. there was no owner in sight. my friends and i took a few pictures to remember this amazing flower stand send a few snaps of the gorgeous bloomed lilies to my mom. i adore the person who opened the stand and still believes in the honor system. wish there were more shops like this.
if anyone happens to know the name of this stand, please let me know!
lewis miller is one of my favorite flower designer in new york and creates the most magnificent installations. lewis goes around the city and what he calls “flower flash” an area. when lewis flower flash, he selects a specific place or landmark and creates a flower installation for only 24 hours. the day he creates a flower flash, he posts the cross streets and let’s the public check out his work. at the end of the day, the artist gives away the flowers instead of trashing the beautiful blooms. this specific flower flash was all the way up in the upper east side. i saw the post in the morning and multiple people tagged me so i felt obligated to check it out. i am happy i did and shot some beautiful pictures while i was up there.
follow lewis miller on instagram to see when his next flower flash is.
back in may, i made a trip home to visit family and take a break from the city. i usually lay low and chill with my parents and veg on the couch. on my way downtown st. louis to grab some lunch, my mom mentioned rudy’s flower truck and i was 100% on board to check it out. rudy’s flower truck is a vintage jeep full of gorgeous blooms and roams around st. louis through out the week. rudy makes stops in front of coffee shops and restaurants for old and new customers to custom create bouquets to take home. my mom handpicked her own blooms and she could not stop smiling!
check out rudy if you are traveling to stl or a local.
